Restaurants
THERE ARE MANY "NATIVE" RESTAURANTS, SOME OF WHICH SPECIALIZE IN FISH DISHES
FROM THE DAILY CATCH OF LOCAL FISHERMEN AS WELL AS PUERTO RICAN DELICACIES.
THERE ARE ALSO RESTAURANTS WHICH HAVE BOTH AMERICAN AND CONTINENTAL
CUISINE. GUESTHOUSES WITH DINING ROOMS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. DRESS IS
ALWAYS CASUAL, PRICES ARE REASONABLE AND THE TROPICAL SETTINGS ARE
BEAUTIFUL.
You can enjoy
Bananas, Amapola, and The Trade Winds, all in Esperanza,
overlooking the promenade along the water's edge.
The Inn on the Blue Horizon has a large
bar/restaurant in La Heuca with a varied menu. In the town of Isabel
Segunda, Cafe Media Luna has a distinctly international menu and a fine wine
list while the Taverna Espanola is very simple in decor but has good paella
and asopao.
Mucho Gusto is another good choices in Isabel Segunda
for Puerto Rican food. You might also try Chez Shack in Pilon for dining
variety. For the local rice and beans or chicken with rice, just explore.
The Crow's Nest is mid-island with a menu specializing in Steaks and Caribbean
dishes and is very attractive.

Rental Cars
There are several places to rent cars but all are privately owned in Vieques
so there is no Hertz, Avis or other national car rental company available.
The cost is between $35 and $60 depending on the type of vehicle.
Weekly rates are not generally available, but long-term rentals might be
negotiated. There are several car rental companies. Below are

Scuba Diving
For scuba diving, there is a
place to rent diving equipment and arrange for diving excursions.
Snorkeling equipment is also available. It would be wise to call before
arriving in Vieques to determine that they can supply specifically what you
require:
